Albania
Looking for sun, sand, city and beach? Albania is your choice. It’s one of the cheapest destinations in Europe, but rest assured, it denies the traveller none of the excitement, relaxation and sight-seeing to be had on the continent. From the capital of Tirana downwards to the coastline of the Adriatic Sea, prepare for the time of your life. Visit the seaside, mountains, glass pyramid and exotic sites, all while being able to lodge in hotels as low as N30,000.

Athens
Visit the birthplace of modern education, origin of democracy, Western civilisation and the creative and literary arts. Athens, the capital of Greece, is a sprawling city with a lot of fascinating historical sites. You can visit the Acropolis and the National Garden, and enjoy the rich Athenian food. As a plus, you can stay as long as you wish because you can lodge in low-cost hotels, and day-to-day expenses don’t wipe the smile off your face when you stare into your purse.
It takes typically less than N40,000 to secure a tourist visa to Greece, and plane tickets are traveller-friendly as well: around N250,000.
Berlin
If you plan on giving yourself a wonderful holiday in Europe, you will hardly do better than the capital of Germany. One of the world’s most historic cities, attracting millions of tourists every year, Berlin is surprisingly one of the cheapest cities to visit in Western Europe. There are numerous sights in this historic city. See the Brandenburg Gate up close. Have a look at the Alexanderplatz. You can climb the Television Tower – which pierces the sky – and have a panoramic view of the city. Eat street food on the city pavements, not to mention have a taste of that wonderful German beer.

Budapest
Budapest is the lovely capital of Hungary. Lounge in spas, sit and relax in cafés and bars, enjoy the city’s nightlife and exotic food. A holiday in Budapest is great value for money, especially given its status as one of the splendid cities of Europe and a centre of tourist attraction.

Naples
The birth place of pizza. Need we say more? Italy is well known for the food: spaghetti, macaroni, lasagne, mozzarella, sea food, chocolate, and of course, pizza. All of these can be found in Naples. Travelling to Rome – the centre of Italian culture – might be slightly on the higher side money-wise, but you can find a lot of the benefits in Naples.
