How to Apply
You can apply for an American EB5 visa through immigration services like CanAm Enterprises or a Nigerian-based firm like Optiva Consulting
Application Process
- To acquire an EB5 visa you will need to invest at least $500,000 into a U.S. business that will provide employment for up to 10 U.S. citizens.
- Your U.S. Immigration service firm will file your investment application to a Regional Centre (a Regional Centre is a U.S. service firm that helps foreign investors invest their money with the aim of acquiring an EB5 visa).
- Then, you will have your immigration firm or lawyer file a form at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) petitioning for an EB5 visa. You will need to submit copies of your travel passports and other identity documents, your completed questionnaire and other eligibility assessment forms for security clearance.
- After your security clearance and eligibility assessment, you will be contacted directly by the USCIS with your ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION containing the details of your acceptance. You will then complete an application form for your investment, and submit your investment amount and syndication fee into an Escrow Account with the USCIS appointed Escrow Bank (a neutral financial institution that holds money safely while two parties sort out an agreement).
- Once the Regional Centre has reviewed and approved your documentation, your U.S. immigration service firm will submit it to the USCIS for the approval of your EB5 Visa Application.
- Following the approval of your EB5 Visa Application by USCIS, the Escrow Bank will release your Investment funds to the USCIS approved Regional Centre who will then place it into the specific bank account for the selected investment project.
- Lastly, an interview will be set up for you – and your family if you are moving with them – at the U.S. consulate in Abuja or Lagos. After this interview, your EB5 Visas will be issued, and you will have six months in which to establish your residency in the United States.
